This is one of my favourite exciting stories to read. Once you get in to it it is hard to stop reading. Everytime I read it I discover something new. It starts out with just a small event in Denmark - a boy have died in an accident. But one of the neighbours, Smilla from Greenland refuses to buy the police explanation and sets out on a quest to find the truth about her friend. Because Smilla is from Greenland she knows all these things about snow that the police and most of the rest of us don't - which pulls her into very dangerous situations. You have to stay alert when reading this book - otherwise you can't figure out what is going on. I keep discovering new things!

HeiLi Hi there! Just read your comment on Smilla. Yeah - it's a great book, a great story and I really love Smilla's character - she's so sassy at time. It's a long time that I read that book, and in French, too (which isn't really my "strong" language), so one of these days I will have a go at the English version to appreciate the book even more.
