A little Lemony Snicket, a little Cuthbert Soup, a snarky narrator and review questions at the end of most chapters - what's not to like in this romp? The Templeton Twins live with their inventor/professor father - as happily as possible since the death of their mother. Dad decides to take a position at Tic Toc U, where he is accosted by a former student who demands that the professor sign the patent of an invention over to the very handsome but despicable former student. There is an overbearing Nanny, a ridiculous dog, and nefarious doings as well as some very interesting ideas. Good third grade readers and fourth grade readers who like a lot of action and some narrative silliness will like this book - probably a lot.
