This book is definitely better than the first book in the series. The story continues towards more of a defined goal and the character development continues to be very good.

If you liked the first book, you will probably like this one as well. It has some borderline sacreligious ideas in it, but in the context of the book, they make sense, and you are not entirely sure which side the author is portraying as the good guys. If you are very offended by anything that is not completely reverent of Christianity, then you may want to avoid this series.
