Read in July, 2012

This is Emi Lenox’s actual diary, day by day, of her life in Portland OR from May 2009 to April 2010; since it covers a year, pretty much a page or two per day, it is long, but worth the effort. As a year in the life of a twenty something, with love interest, angst, problems with roommates, friends and boyfriends, teens will enjoy it; she’s engaging, honest and funny as well as self-deprecating. Playlists of favorite songs, armycats who help her with her love life, and her charming drawing style are added attractions. A great companion/foil to Scott Pilgrim, this is a real girl’s real life.
