The author does an excellent job at cutting through our stereotypical views of the poor and allows us the rare oppportunity to grasp the real day-to-day world in which they live. It was exciting to read how his team's approach yields tangible and long-lasting benefits to the absolute poorest people on earth. He validates the premise they need the opportunity and tools to help themselves as opposed to bureaucratic government programs that are doomed before they commence. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a charitable desire and to those who simply cannot understand or connect with the poor.
