As the assistant DA, Andy Barber is called to the scene of a homicide. This is not a typical occurrence in the wealthy suburb of Newton, MA. When Andy arrives he discovers that the victim is a school mate of his son. Andy's world turns upside down when his own son is charged with the murder. Obviously, Andy is removed from the case and the family hunkers down to fight the battle of their lives. Jacob swears that he didn't kill Ben and Andy, as his father, feels that it is his duty to help his son fight to prove his innocence. As the case unfolds, however, Andy has to fight his own internal battles while trying to keep his marriage and his family afloat.

Anita Johnson Wow, you make me want to read it. Great review.

Ruth You are too kind and biased I am afraid! It was a great book, however, and one that had a lot of meat for discussion for a book club.
