I am thirteen and I know Nicholas Sparks books aren’t aimed at readers my age but I believe that if the author is skilled within their writing they can intrigue anyone into enjoying their book. Nicholas Sparks was new to me until I saw the trailer for the movie and decided I’d like to watch it. But I thought that this would be one of those stories I would prefer reading before seeing. So I did…
When I began reading I didn’t think it was the book for me, it wasn’t pulling me in. But I persisted for a couple of chapters then really got into the story and connected with the characters. It was a book that I just couldn’t put down and read within 3-4 days. One thing though, that I found quite frustrating at the start was the different chapters. Within Nicholas Spark’s writing I believe he switched between characters for different chapters. And I didn’t really mind it’s just I sometimes would have read a really long chapter on Elizabeth and then it would switch back to Logan. With Elizabeth’s chapter being long I could forget slightly what had last happened when we were in Logan’s perspective. So I would find myself having to flick back. But this is something that you do get used to.
When maybe half way through the book I started thinking well this is going to be a predictable love story. But in later chapters it does get a bit more intense and exciting and things happen you really do not expect.
I really enjoy this book and will definitely be reading more of Nicholas Spark’s novels.
