I felt like this was a better story than Little Alters Everywhere - but really it was just a Part 1 and a part 2. I had a hard time with the abuse and alcoholism - just like I did in the first book. I think if I hadn't watched the movie first I would never have commited to reading these two books - since they seem to be scrunched together for the movie.

I have no desire to read any further in this series. The writing was good and the characters believable - but I felt like it was just depressing stuff really. And I have a hard time with what I call "Hallmark Moments" - they sort of make me throw up in my mouth a little. Not that I don't find myself blubbering over a book on que - but I resent feeling like I am being lead on an emotional rollercoaster. And that's kinda how I feel about these books.
