I very much recognize the quality of the writing of Brandon Sanderson, and I know that many people enjoy this book, but I did not get into it. I really liked the character Kelsier, but most of the book was about the young female character, whose name was (I think) Vin. She was tiresome to me and I just did not care about her. The story could have used some more action because when Sanderson wrote action it was well done, but the first 2/3 of the book were mostly Vin being boring, so I decided to move on with life before reaching what might have been a cool big finale for the book because it did have a good plot going for it.

Gilberto Why did you find Vin boring? I thought she was fairly interesting.

message 2: by Tracy (new) - added it

Tracy You know I can't even remember much about her. She wasn't very memorable for me. Something about she did not want to wear a dress. How tedious. I just could not face another chapter with her. I suppose other people might enjoy her, and I certainly had no problem with the writing, but to have the main female character fall so flat for me forced me to move on.

Gilberto Oh yeah, she was annoying in the beginning, but she warms up to Kelsier and the others after a time lapse in between one of the chapters.
