Disclaimer first - I won this book from a goodreads/first read giveaway.

I am a Terry Pratchet fan to start with and was thrilled to win this book. I actually read it twice. It was a little more, um, normal/mainstream than I expected and I was having trouble getting used to that. I got over it, but thought I'd best re-read it from start to finish before reviewing.

Really, really enjoyed it. I loved the mix of real people and history infused with this main character, Dodger. The story was fun to follow as Dodger has some close calls, but manages his way out of them using his street smarts.

The story flows in a rather generic way, but it doesn't take away from it and I do believe it is meant to be a young adult book, so that would make sense.

All in all, it's at least a 4 star book. Can't quite give it 5, but it is easily a 4+.
