The book is powerful in its simplicity. The author pulls you into the story, and before you know it, she's made important points regarding relationships, forgiveness, and letting go of past hurts.

I love the way she carefully develops her characters. I love the lessons learned about holding onto anger versus letting go.

I thought I wouldn't like the book, expecting it to focus on a life ruined by a tragedy. Instead, it is a gripping tale about the mom's response to the tragedy and how it makes her a better person. She grows a lot through the tragedy, and I benefitted by watching how she learned more about herself as she journeyed through grief.

I look forward to reading more books by this author.
