I thought this book was a bit overrated. I liked the premise and intriguing concept quite a bit. The execution and telling of the story, however, felt cookie cutter. For me, the little details that the author chose to enrich the narrative didn't lend an authenticity or insight, but rather felt obvious and almost trite. That said, the plot/premise did get under my skin and keep me reading. When it was over, I was contemplative because of said story, but I didn't miss any of the characters. I like this genre of quasi science fiction that is more like a narrative fiction but with a dash of sci fi.
