After Georgina, her younger brother, and mother have been evicted from their apartment, they are reduced to living in their run down car. Although her mother is working two jobs, there still isn't enough money to get back into a home. Georgina decides that stealing a dog, then bringing it back for the reward money would bring in enough money. Her plan isn't well thought out and naturally she runs into problems. Reading about the difficulties homeless people face and the shunning she gets from her schoolmates, (as she becomes more and more unkempt), I had a lot of sympathy for her but not enough to excuse her plan that caused the owner much grief, and put the dog into peril. I was quite anxious for that dog so for other animal lovers that might read this, things turn out fine for him.
