Mastering the model won't turn you in to a "human lie detector." The book provides simple descriptions and explanations of the deception-detection model that they have developed and what to identify to suggest that additional questioning might be appropriate. The goal is to uncover the truth. And make sure that if that is your goal, be prepared for what the truth is. Easy reading, but I think I will need to read it again and practice practice practice, as the authors suggest. Some suggested questions for specific scenarios (hiring a childcare professional, discussing drug/alcohol use with children, etc.) are also provided, as well as a good glossary of terms to help recall the elements in the model.
