did not like it
Read from August 06 to 15, 2012

I wanted to like this book, I really did. But it was very slow to start, and the narrative when describing Lydia Blessing's past was extremely choppy and jumped around. I assume it was meant to be that way, as if it were an 80 year old woman remembering her past. I often found myself skipping over parts because they were so disjointed that I lost interest and had to go back and re-read. There were a few times I lost interest and wanted to throw in the towel but the storyline with Skip Cuddy and the baby was intriguing enough to make me want to find out what happened, so I did hang in there until the end, although I almost wish I hadn't. The book was just a really depressing read, all in all. My first Anna Quindlen and I probably wouldn't pick up another.
