Rocket makes writing a story seem really boring. If there has been just a touch of conflict, then this could have been saved. In the previous books, Rocket's reluctance to go the Little Yellow Bird's school gave him some personality, and so when he was physically running and digging and discovering how to read, it was a sweet triumph.

In this book, Rocket's voice has been mashed up with the L.Y.Birds, which was disappointing. And the text was longer. If Rocket has run around and interacted with more animals or observed some conflict, then he could have discovered his story. My son's were not inspired to write after listening to this story.
