My Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Iris has been living a secluded life with her father, Roger, and caretaker, Diana, due to her severe asthma which flares due to excessive activity or emotion. With no memory of her mother, she takes comfort in her dreams of a fantasy island she calls Never-Never. After a severe asthma attack, Iris tells her father of her dreams and is shocked to learn that Never-Never actually exists. Roger, in an attempt to keep Iris safe, sends her to the island with Diana. Once on the island, Iris begins to discover more of the truth about her early years and family, as well as, getting closer to the mysterious Falcon. But the more Iris learns the more questions she has and everyone is determined to wait until Roger joins them to answer her questions.

Emma did a great job at laying the foundation for the Society of Feathers series. The suspense kept me turning the pages quickly to find out exactly what was going on and if Iris's (and my) questions were going to be answered.

I'm excited to see where this series goes next!
