This is one of the most hilarious, entertaining and intelligent books I have ever read. Tom Robbins must be totally insane to concoct some of his storylines, but nonetheless I loved this book start to finish. He is totally random and yet somehow makes it all work together. Reclusive renegade desert nuns, a semi-incestuous Seattle school girl, a parrot, Amazon jungle voo doo, wheelchair confinement, and the CIA are SOME of the elements that make this book, if you can imagine how this can possibly be tied together. Oh, and Our Lady of Fatima. There's more. I won't tell you-- just go read it. The random humor is offset by even more random philosophical wisdom and it will catch you off guard but I promise, you will appreciate the dead-on insights. Don't let the first few pages of this book freak you out-- it's just part of his master plan.
