It's crazy that simple structure and few words can create such depth and power. Throughout the story I ended up pondering what other vehicles produce a similar effect and I could only come up with a few.

Reading Hemingway is like eating at a chefs place who makes the food the star of the dinner. Any technique used it only meant to enhance the natural tastes of the ingredients. It's also like walking into a modern house where the balance of form and function is at it most complete. Everything is startlingly beautiful and serves a purpose.

I guess all great artists can find a way not to overwork their medium.

Reading Hemingway so makes me wonder why I read half the crap I do.

So, up next, the second 1,000+ page book of 10 in a fantasy series that all falls within the same universe of the authors other series.
