Heat, by Mike Lupica was a great story of a boy named Michael, who gets through many struggles to bring his little league baseball team to the Little League world Series. Micheal, a twelve year old who lives in New York City, was born in Cuba. He was denied his right to play on his team when the discovered that hisbirth certificate was not on files. This was because Michaels dad died and Michael and his older brother lived alone, Michael's birth certificate was back in Cuba. Michaels struggles through part of the baseball season watching his team play without him, it was unfair that the little league association wouldn't let him play. In the end Michael does end up getting his birth certificate, and he leads his team into the final rounds of the Little League Word Series. He even gets to play at Yankee stadium, which he practically lives right next door to. Heat was a entertaining book, and I recommend it to anyone who loves baseball and all the drama that comes with it.
