This was a decent story, although it was a little heavy on the "gothic" of "Southern Gothic" as a genre for my taste. The characters were very Southern - which I tend to be drawn to - and the action was a good mix of solid suspenseful set-up and flat-out action.

I didn't particularly like most of the characters though, including the protagonist, Eden. I suspect the author did this on purpose, making everyone in the story a mix of positive and negative traits, but it did make it more difficult to really connect with Eden because she just wasn't very likeable.

The ending was very suspensful and action-packed and you fly through the pages to find out how the story ends.

All in all a decent young adult suspense/gothic story.
