This is one of my favorite Jack Reacher stories. Carmen is the prominent female and I don't like her in the beginning. You just can't trust her. However, in this part of Texas where it's really hot and dry, just off the Mexico border, she's living with her husband's family of 'good ole boy' white Texans. And, she's Mexican. This is a very complicated story, even for a Jack Reacher novel. You can't put it down.
