I loved this book. I began reading it without looking at the synopsis, so I had absolutely no idea what the story would be about when I got started. I honestly thought it was going to be a Native American/Western themed book. So when I realized it was sci-fi I was thrilled. Everything was incredibly clear in the story, and all of the concepts were very easy for me to get, and I could visualize them perfectly. It had the feel (for me) of one of my favorite movies (Serenity) which was awesome. I loved Ash's connection with animals. And he was a great character in general. And Neopol was just disgusting, which is of course exactly the point. I can't wait to read the second one!
