really liked it
bookshelves: nonfiction, food, ethnic

This is a delightful guide that is as enjoyable to read cover-to-cover as it is to use as a reference or bus-stop distraction. It deals with everything from whole spices to spice blends, fruits, vegetables, grains, pulses, and prepared foods. The articles are short and to the point, covering culinary as well as medicinal uses. The odd aspect ratio makes it nice for carrying around and hard to damage, but the book is difficult to one-hand if you've got short fingers.
