really liked it
bookshelves: beat-poets

I love Bukowski, though he's certainly not for everyone. I admire his honesty--he doesn't sugar-coat anything, and it's harder to write that way than you'd think. He's proof that sometimes the worst lives make the best stories. It's also nice to see someone write about male adolescence the way it really is, not the way everyone wishes it was or the way the censors or over-protective parents want you to think it is.
