Yes, I read children's books, especially when I'm home sick with a head cold. Don't judge me.

I like The Secret Garden quite a bit. It's a simple, sweet story that, while moral, doesn't get overly saccharine (*cough*littlelordfauntleroy*cough*). Burnett describes the setting well and faithfully, bringing it to life, and Mary and Colin are surprisingly engaging characters. When they are play-acting and trying not to laugh, they always make me laugh.

It's an old-fashioned book, of course, but nevertheless, I recommend The Secret Garden for kids.
