** spoiler alert ** I hated this book. At first, I really thought I would love it - a redheaded female nutritional anthropologist working in Africa? That's me! Who doesn't want to read a romance about a fictional version of herself? (Maybe non-egotists!). I was also challenged because my friend Brian who recommended it to me said it was full of difficult words that I wouldn't know and never one to back down from a challenge, I wanted to see if I could do it. And I could.

What I hated about it the most was the end. It was SO obviously written by a man. What woman would ever go and find a better looking younger version of herself to present to her soul mate and true love who she feared was growing bored with her? Why didn't the two of them just talk about his traumatic expeirence in the desert? It was infuriating. Maybe I should re-read it now that I'm older, but I'm still thinking maybe not.
