Georgette Heyer is truly a master of mystery. Her books are fantastic, her locations stunning, and the atmosphere is thrilling.
Peter, Celia, and Margaret have inherited a castle from their uncle. When they go down to explore (with Celia's husband, Charles and their aunt), they discover that this castle is rumored to be haunted by the "Monk," a ghostly apparition wearing a cowl. Well, they believe to be nonsense, until the noises and pranks start escalating. Is it really just accidents, is it the ghost, or is there something more menacing going on?
