Even without reading this book, anyone could tell it's not a full memoir. There aren't enough pages to contain a lifestory like Carrie Fisher's. The book is really the print version of Carrie Fisher's one-woman stage show "Wishful Drinking". It's a light, quick, funny read even though the material tackles mental illness, drug addiction, and family dysfunction. Fisher doesn't approach her life or subjects in a straight manner. She's got to milk the laugh out of a situation, and that's her right. She's survived a lot, and her book will give you a glimpse of what that means.
