I hate giving an "Odd" book so low a rating, but Koontz' wrting of late has pained me something terrible. Where are the amazing plots of "One Door Away from Heaven" or "From the Corner of His Eye?" I cant help but feel as though the amazing conclusions in those books are now wrapped up in a few short paragraphs and we're sent on our way. Starting out a bit slow, and then finally working in to an intriguing and gripping story, Koontz wraps up Odd Apocalypse in a pretty little bow with a weak and trite conclusion. The depth that was so prevalent in many of his earlier stories, is gone. It seems the push for more publications, is sapping his stories of their necessary depth to make them truly amazing reads. Jokes on us, regardless, we keep buying in hopes that he'll return to his true form one day.
