I am a huge C. S. Lewis fan, so it seems odd that it has take me so long to get around to this most popular of his religious works. I suppose it's due to the whole negative worldview of Satan's minions. It's never been on the top of my CS Lewis to-do list, and having read it, I must say that it was not my favorite of his works. So I was gratified to hear Lewis himself say (it was an audio book) that it was one of the least favorite of his books to write, because it forced him to look at things from the Devil's point of view. The book was full of profound insights, as I have come to expect from Lewis, and well worth reading, but I enjoyed it less than the other wonderful works of his I have read.
