Thompson is one of those writers with an unmistakable style! Like "The Killer Within Me," this book was tough to put down, with a series of great plot twists. Narrated by a small town sheriff in his back-country voice, it follows his story as he plots a series of murders and crimes to cover up his secret lowlife ways. The narration is especially good because the main character is obviously quite clever, only pretending to be simple to better allow him to lead the simple life to which he is accustomed.
