This is the sort of book you'd expect to read in a literary theory class, and so it is an unusual read in the sense that it is largely geared toward students or professors. It is an interesting read--Eco is full of good insights into the nature of authorial voice and intent.

Eco fans will enjoy this since it gives them an opportunity to understand how he thinks while he writes.
