Though Margaret Atwood wrote this book in the 1970s, it still remains very relevant, almost scarily so, to today's society.

Perhaps everyone who reads will get something different out of this book, but what I got out of the book was a message to our society about what extremism can do and where it can lead us. The book was sometimes frightening as I saw parallels in today's society to what eventually happened in the book; maybe that was its intent.

No matter if you think what is happening today is right or wrong, I believe this book is a great read. It keeps you involved and it keeps you guessing, theorizing, wondering and thinking. And the latter is the most important thing I got from this book.
