I love the illustrations in this book. Old- timely representations of Dorothy and the Scarecrow, TinMan, and Cowardly Lion.
Did not have any idea L. Frank Baum tried so many different jobs before ever settling down to write about the place he'd been speaking of to his children at bedtime for years.
And ... I do not know ... I don't think I've ever actually read about the wizard. Just seen him. May have to remedy that!
