I expected more out of this book. It had a lot of potential to be awesome (they are on a dig just outside of Egypt, there's an old curse and mysterious accidents start to happen, etc), but the author didn't manage to wrap the book up successfully (in my opinion). He didn't provide much of a backstory on any of the characters, so I didn't get attached and it didn't really matter to me if something bad happened to them. There was nowhere near enough detail about the curse itself and the associated Egyptian history. Overall, this book should have been twice as long as it is, so he could develop the characters and build anticipation for their approach of "the third gate" of the tomb.
