bookshelves: youngadult, graphic-novel

In this graphic novel, Abby returns to summer camp with the expectation of reuniting with her close friend from last year, Rose. But Rose is now a camp assistant and has little time for Abby. Abby eventually finds a sort-of-friendship with two girls who are clique-ish and judgmental. Much to the two girls disdain, Abby finds a true friend in the slightly odd and mysterious, Shasta.

This was pretty good and had a lot of issues that pre-teen and young teenage girls could relate to. There's a magical realism element that didn't quite work for me, but that's a minor complaint. Overall, solid with a high appeal-factor.
