Rich, balanced, and beautifully-written despite the horrendous circumstances endured by all of the characters. Author Markus Zusak shows that Jews were not Hitler's only victims. This story is really more about love's power in holding souls together and making life worth living---as narrated by a poetic and compassionate Death.

Didi I thought this was a beautifully written book too. It's marked YA. Do you think it's YA?

Leslie Reese Hi Deirdre- No! I don't think it is YA. However, it has a tone of beauty and hope to it that I don't think would have been there had it been strictly an "adult" novel. (???) know what I mean?

Didi Definitely!! How are you? I think I'm going to read Perfect Peace next. Have you read it?
