Quixotic doesn't begin to describe this wonderful read! In fact, it's very difficult to properly describe this book and do it justice without actually reading it, which I highly recommend doing!

The story is about love (there are two different love stories that develop thoughout), complicated family issues, bad decisions, past regrets, magic, learning about yourself, and fears of truly going after life in the present.

The writing is engaging and engrossing, the plot moves along at just the right pace, with plenty of excitement, character development and a relentless move towards the highly satisfying ending which includes a twist that you may, or may not have figured out by the time it's revealed. All of the characters are colourful, complicated, multi-faceted people who's back stories of how they ended up where they are now is very interesting to explore - both from a literary and a psychological perspective!

All in all this a truly unique, quirky, intelligent read, and I will definitely be picking up Garden Spells - Sarah Addison Allen's other book.
