The only reason I gave this such a low rating was I could not get into the weak (ghetto) language skills of the characters. I understand that this was to help character development and this may appeal to some readers who are used to listening to this all the time, but it drove me crazy.
The story itself was good but I was so distracted by the language that I was not able to get into the book until probably the last half. These characters also lacked the ability to work through any of their problems, but once again, I am sure it was to prove a point.
I hate writing this review because overall, the storyline was great. The book itself was good, just the language issue. I respect Paul Griffin highly for what he tried to accomplish here, I just hope others enjoy it more than I did.
