really liked it
bookshelves: suspended, drama-russian

Valuable translations into relatively idiomatic American English (from the late 90s), by a Russian scholar who's also a translator, playwright, and actor. Even his short introduction is thought-provoking. For an appreciation of Schmidt's merits in this work, see this Atlantic Online review.

I haven't read all of these (yet), having bought the book mainly for reference.
