A non-preachy book about one woman's transition from New York City Girl to operator of a large scale ago-business.

Kristin met Mark during an interview. He was an organic farmer with big ideas who effortlessly dodged her for three days while she kept finding herself helping out in her hipster outfit. By the end of three days, when they finally managed to sit down together, Mark knew he was in love and Kristin new she was....intrigued. She took a leap of faith and moved with Mark to a 600 acre farm in upstate New York where they began to shape their lives raising cattle, milk cows, pigs, and chickens and growing 500 kinds of vegetables in addition to flowers, herbs, and maple syrup. Their goal was to develop a full service farm where one price would buy you everything you needed for a whole year. They faced trouble - in their relationship and the farm - but what they didn't expect was community, a sense of belonging, and finding the love of their lives.

I truly enjoyed this book. It wasn't preachy or condescending. Kristin didn't preach that all other ways to live your life were horrible or she was better than us grocery store shoppers. She told her story with a sense of awe. With a sense of humble struggle. And a sense of gratitude for all of those who helped her and Mark along the way. I can say right now that I am intrigued by Kristin's story, and wouldn't mind seeing her farm. In fact, I wouldn't mind living close enough so that being a member and occasionally helping out was feasible. But I could never do. I could not trade in my business suits and fast clean working environment for the strenuous work of a farm. But my hat is off to you Kristin for taking that chance and finding your true calling
