it was amazing
bookshelves: historical-fiction, picture-book, to-grade

Reading Level: primary

This book is great for young readers. It is a story about the events that occurred immediately prior to the official start of the American Revolution. Students are introduced to historical terms such as minuteman, redcoats and lobster backs. We also hear about Paul Revere.

The illustrations are simplistic and give a sense of the setting being a simpler time -- little innovation and many things being done by hand.
