Comparisons w/the Hitchhiker's Guide are definitely going a bit too far. But I love the premise, it hit all of my MAFIAA/copywrong/(f)MS buttons, managed to catch me by surprise with a logical hidden-in-plain-sight ending, and was a fun quick read. I suspect that given the tone of this book (bits referring to dealings with music execs and politicians in particular) and the author's connections to Listen/Rhapsody, a straight-up book about his (mis)adventures with the music biz that underlie this story would also be a great read. 4/5, nudged up an extra half-point by the character playlists included at the end. Nice touch.

Think of this great little "$8bn iPod" TEDtalk by the author as a book trailer: http://bit.ly/ReidOnTED
