Probably the dead of summer is not the time to try to get into a collection of descriptions of undead characters and Bradbury's indirect way of telling a story, but I really had a hard time getting into and through this book. I don't feel like anything actually ever happened and many of the characters are just fuzzy descriptions that are only around for a chapter that has nothing to do with the other chapters. That being said, I did like Timothy's decision at the end and his reasons for that decision as well as his "Thousand Times Great Grandmere's" advice to him. I also got a kick out of Uncle Einar's solution to losing his night vision.
