In Laura Wright’s fourth installment of her Mark of the Vampire series, Gray Donahue is as committed as ever to his calling as leader of the Impure Resistance. But he is unable to resist the lure of Dillon when she comes to him in need of his touch to gain control of her shift. Dillon is by far my favorite character, so I went into her tale cautiously tempering my expectations so I wouldn’t be disappointed. I was happy to discover there was no need. Wright wove a story to match Dillon’s fierce independence and scarred past without over-doing it, as I’ve seen so many authors do to this type of character. Gray also pulled through for me with his steadiness and honest emotion. Wright provided a refreshing take on a power couple. Four Stars.
