A story about ownership and transfer of a farm and a convoluted, confused and messed up family, based on King Lear. This book is really dark and quite genius. I read it in my early 20s and wasn't really ready for it. Re-read it and thought it was brilliant. Two complaints- at time the understated nature of the writing made things a bit confusing (things were just said, and then you'd have to backtrack and figure things out). Also, this is really a book that should be read alone, and I read books in between the time I started and finished it. This is a book that deserves your full attention.
