A tale about a family of dolls and the many adventures they experience trying to find Auntie Sarah who has been lost for 45 years. Being that they are a set of living dolls they have special rules they must live by so that the humans don't discover their secret.

Annabelle, the main character, is strong, kind, and smart. She trusts her instincts and isn't afraid to ask questions, even when she anticipates the answers being difficult to understand. Illustrations are beautiful and extremely well done. They showcase a doll's-eye view of the human house and manage to convey a variety of expressions even though dolls have fixed expressions. Recommended for girls grades 3-5.
