This was pretty good, but I found it particularly hard to keep track of who was who in this novel. To be fair, that could be a function of the time period - there was so much switching of allegiances! Anyway, this tells the story of the secret marriage of Edward IV and then goes up through the usurpation of Richard III, and ends just as Henry Tudor is crowned. It's told from the alternating perspectives of the Duke and Duchess of Buckingham, which I thought was interesting as that got you some chapters from someone who was directly embroiled in what was going on, and some from someone who was just a couple of steps outside of it. It was interesting to read this after having so recently read A Dangerous Inheritance, because they cover some of the same events. If you're big on historical fiction from this era you will want to read this.
