This is going to annoy people. What is it with women authors and their female protagonists? They all seem to either a - have an axe to grind, mostly against males, or b - think only they are right.

One thing did annoy me a lot, too much medical jargon without explanation of what it means. If you are using medical terminology at least tell the reader what it means, and does in the world.

The same goes for Rizzoli. She feels she has a point to prove. This gets annoying very quickly. The character isn't that well rounded. Yes, it is the first book, so I suspect we will get more of her back story.
Rizzoli and her colleagues are trying to a rather twisted killer. Who is killing women by cutting them open then cutting their throats. The object of his "affection" is one of the doctors at a hospital. They don't have much to work on, a single hair. But no prints. Slowly they start to piece together his history and Moore goes to Savannah to check on the statements and other evidence from the first killings. without giving anything away, it seems rushed towards the end.
I hold a good feeling for the rest of the series.
